Last week, Dr. Anthony Leung, partner of Badgerswood Surgery, met up with local MP Damian Hinds to discuss the healthcare enhancements planned for Bordon in the near future and what the local community can expect from these developments.
Recognising the hard work of all NHS staff through the pandemic
Damian recognised the huge part played by the NHS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and praised Badgerswood and Forest Surgery for their efforts over the last 2 years, particularly in relation to implementing the vaccination programme throughout Bordon, positively impacting the local community.
Celebrating the upcoming Badgerswood Maternity Hub
Thinking ahead to the future, Damian and Anthony discussed the development of the Bordon Health Hub as well as the Badgerswood Maternity Hub, which is currently under construction on our Mill Lane, Headley site.
Once completed, the innovative Maternity Hub will be open 365 days a year and staffed with midwives from the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford, providing midwifery services to our local community. With Bordon’s expansion continuing apace, it is becoming a hotspot for young couples looking to start families of their own, so the development of the Maternity Hub is perfectly timed and placed to meet this demand. The Maternity Hub aims to provide an easily accessible clinic, both in terms of location and opening times, for the local area, meaning couples don’t have to travel far from home to access the midwifery services they need.

The surgery and Dr Leung are always at the forefront of innovation for patients. I was especially pleased to hear about the progress of the maternity services hub project. This will be a fantastic new facility for the area.”
