Test Results
How to get test results
You can log into your NHS App to get your test results.
You can also get your results by phone on weekdays. The team will be able to tell you if any further action is required. Should this be necessary, you will be advised to make an appointment to discuss the result with your doctor.
Our admin team are not clinically trained but they can give you basic information relating to your test results.
Please note that we have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only give test results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they’re not capable of understanding them.
Should you require in-depth information, our team will advise you to book an appointment with a doctor, if your result is not of an urgent nature, this may be a routine telephone appointment.
The clinician who asked you to complete a test will tell you whether you need a further appointment after or whether you should just contact us for the results.
How long does it take to get my test results?
When you attend a test of any kind, you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Blood test results usually take five working days to get back and be checked by your GP. If there is anything that needs discussing further, your GP will call you as soon as they get the results back. If there are no problems with the results, then you will not be contacted.
Please note, if we do not contact you, than your result has been assessed by a clinician.
The surgery will contact you if there is a significant problem with your results, but please contact us for results as the GP may have made some suggestions or advice based on your results even if there is not a significant problem.
